What’s your go-to food whenever you travel? Geographical location permitted, I always try to find a Poke spot. Located right on the Gulf of Mexico, you better believe there will be a gem of a place in the south and Nanbu Noodle Bar is just that. Fun fact, the name itself is Japanese for Southerner. Right outside of Seaside on Logan Ln. Nanbu Noodle Bar sits right in what seems to be these cookie-cutter side-by-side shops. It pairs well with the “Truman Show” theme-like housing and or experience.

I can’t speak for the service as I decided on takeaway for full advantage of the beach life and eat it there.
Now for the real reason, you’re here, the Poke. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and the amount that was given. At times, some places skimp on the rice, protein, sauce, etc., but something always seems to have the short end of the stick. Or even the rice, is overcooked and too wet, or undercooked and crunchy. Nanbu knocked it out of the park with the right amount of perfectly fluffy cooked rice, the perfect amount of tuna cut into bite-sized cubes, and the sauce for the tuna was perfect as well. Was it worth $17 + services fees and tip, sure. As that area is already overpriced I have to say the amount you get for the price you are paying on average, is worth it.
Low-quality photos, HIGH-QUALITY FOOD!
My order: Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl: rice, chili, avo, radish, mango, cucumber, soy, scallion. (minus the radish)

If you end up going here be sure to make a reservation during the evenings or weekends as it’s jam-packed and takeaway orders take time, so prepare for some type of waiting. It’s absolutely worth the wait though for some of the freshest bites in Seaside.
